Mayers Memorial Hospital District is excited to welcome Dr. Tony Magno to our team. Dr. Magno is a Family Medicine Physician and will be a hospitalist at Mayers and see patients at the Mayers Rural Health Center in Burney.

Dr. Magno grew up In Florence, Colorado, a small rural community. This is one reason he was drawn to the Intermountain area. He and his wife Sandra have always wanted to return to a small community. The rural community was just what he was looking for. “I’d been travelling up to Mayers Memorial Hospital from Sacramento to do hospital work for the past year and have become very fond of the hospital, the local community and its people.”

Dr. Magno and his wife have two children, Isabella and Julian and the family is looking forward to settling into the community.

Dr. Magno completed his undergraduate work at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has two undergrad degrees in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and Integrative Physiology. He went to Medical School at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. His residency was completed at the University of California, Davis.

Family Medicine is Dr. Magno’s specialty. He says that “The science of medicine has always intrigued me, and I enjoy working with and helping others. Growing up in rural Colorado I’d recognized early on the need for providers in smaller communities, and the plan throughout my training has been to practice medicine in such a place.”

Dr. Magno is excited to be in a community where he can raise his family and take advantage of some of the unique outdoor opportunities. “I’m an avid bass fisherman and try to make it on the water whenever I have a chance.”

MMHD is fortunate to have Dr. Magno join the team, Magno agrees, “I’m excited to expand my role at Mayer’s and to serve the community in both the clinic setting and at the hospital.”
