Biography:

I was raised on a cattle ranch and while preforming the many expected duties, I learned early rising, hard work and responsibility, all characteristics that would serve me well. Quite early on, inspired by my own rural physician (and "Marcus Welby MD, an old TV medical program) I knew that I wanted to go into medicine (and not have to stack hay anymore) but first I would serve a two year mission for my church. As young men and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints, we give up two years of our life in the service of others, I went to a foreign mission (Mississippi and Louisiana) and in the "deep south" I felt touched by their hospitality, so loving them was easy, and working with them inspiring.

Next, to earn the money to put myself thru medical school, I worked on the Oil Drilling Rigs, spending near 4 1/2 years working and finishing my undergraduate degree while also raising a young family.

After graduating "Suma cum laude" I attended Medical School, doing my residency in Family Medicine. Having finished my training, I was given an opportunity to take over a retiring physicians practice in Southern California, a valley, hemmed by numerous dairy farms, Citrus ranches and retiree's in the center of this rural farming valley.

I worked closely with the small hospital, asked to be the local High Schools "sideline sports doctor", served in the PAL's program, requested to be the Medical Director of a newly opened Urgent Care clinic all the while building my own private practice. For 25 years, I served that geriatric community, raised my family and then was given an opportunity to slow down and move north to serve the community of Burney.

It's here in Burney, over the last near 3 years that I've had the opportunity to serve this community and imbibe in the fantastic Fly Fishing, all in an area that reminds me of my families ranch. I look forward to continue serving the Burney community, continue a close relationship with our hospital and to work at Mayer's newly formed Burney clinic with Dr. Watson and his staff.
