Fall River Mills, CA — As part of its ongoing commitment to transparency, preparedness, and community safety, Mayers Memorial Healthcare District is proud to highlight the robust internal fire safety systems and procedures in place to protect patients, staff, visitors, and facilities across the District.
Fire safety and emergency preparedness are overseen by Dana Hauge, Safety Director<.B>, who is responsible for ensuring the safe working order of all District facilities. Hauge holds a Bachelor of Science in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, with an emphasis in occupational safety, and is currently completing her master’s degree. A core focus of her role is supporting operations teams to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and well-prepared to withstand emergency and disaster events.
Mayers Memorial Healthcare District adheres to all applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations and is routinely surveyed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition, the District’s fire protection systems have been certified by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), reflecting a strong commitment to meeting and exceeding national safety standards.
To maintain this high level of safety, the District operates comprehensive inspection and testing programs and partners with certified fire protection vendors.
Fire Alarm Systems
Fire alarm systems are supported by Hue & Cry, which responds to alarm activations and provides immediate notification if a fire panel detects a fault. Hue & Cry also assists in ensuring that fire-rated corridor doors close properly, allowing facilities to be divided into fire-rated smoke compartments designed to protect patients and staff during an emergency.Sprinkler Systems
Sprinkler systems are inspected and tested by Murray Plumbing and Fire of Redding. The company holds a State Fire Marshal seal and is registered with CAL FIRE. Due to the sensitivity of these systems, all water-based fire protection systems are continuously monitored to ensure proper operation at all times.Staff Preparedness and Training
In addition to system maintenance, Mayers Memorial places a strong emphasis on staff preparedness.
