Mayers Memorial Healthcare District (MMHD) and Tri County Community Network (TCCN) Partner to Strengthen Community Center in Burney

Mayers Memorial Healthcare District (MMHD) is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Tri County Community Network (TCCN) aimed at revitalizing and sustaining the community center in Burney, a vital hub for the Intermountain Communities.

After months of collaborative efforts and strategic planning, MMHD and TCCN boards both approved a partnership that will not only ensure the continued operation of the community center but will also bring in expanded programs to address the diverse needs of the community.

Both MMHD and TCCN have a rich history of working together to benefit the Intermountain Communities MMHD was instrumental in the forming of the non-profit organization in 1997. This partnership represents a rekindling of that collaborative spirit. The commitment to maintaining TCCN's nonprofit status is a cornerstone of the agreement, ensuring the sustainability of the community center and providing opportunities to access crucial grant funding.

"We are thrilled to formalize this partnership with TCCN, reinforcing our shared commitment to the well-being of the Intermountain Communities," said Valerie Lakey, Chief Public Relations Officer at MMHD. "This collaboration not only preserves the legacy of our organizations working together but also opens up new avenues to address the changing needs of our community." Abe Hathaway, MMHD Board President said, “our board is looking forward to the many services and opportunities this collaboration will offer to the community we serve.”

The emphasis on exploring new services aligns seamlessly with the shared vision of both organizations. By addressing a wide range of community needs, MMHD and TCCN aim to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of residents in the Burney area.

"The community center has long been a pillar of support for our residents, and we are confident that this partnership will not only preserve its legacy but also enhance its capacity to serve the community," said Amber Estes, TCCN Board President. "Together, we can ensure that the center continues to be a dynamic resource, adapting to the changing needs of our community."

In the last few months, Tri County Community Network has been supported by several generous grantors. TCCN would like to thank ConnectGen, The Patricia D. and William B. Smullin Foundation, PG&E, United Way, and The McConnell Foundation. “This generosity supported so many families. TCCN would also like to give a special thank you to The Community Foundation of the North State who gave so generously and helped connect TCCN to other donors and resources. Without their support, TCCN would not have had the ability to keep vital programs open while working toward our partnership with MMHD. Many local families received vital services because of the generosity of these organizations. TCCN will be forever grateful.”

This collaboration is anticipated to benefit not only the Burney Community and Intermountain area, but also showcase MMHD's commitment to serving the community's broader well-being. By aligning resources and expertise, MMHD and TCCN are poised to create a more resilient and vibrant community center that reflects their shared dedication to community health.

The partnership marks a return to the organizations' roots, going back to the time when MMHD and TCCN first joined forces to establish the community center as a beacon of support for the Intermountain Communities.
