Women's Focus: A Guide to Health Living by Age

Mayers Memorial Healthcare District Promotes Proactive Health for Women's and Men's Health Months

As May, designated as Women's Health Month, comes to a close, Mayers Memorial Healthcare District (MMHD) shifts its focus to Men's Health Month in June, emphasizing the importance of proactive health measures for all individuals.

During Women's Health Month, MMHD provided valuable resources to empower women to take charge of their health. One such resource is the publication "Women's Focus: A Guide to Healthy Living By Age," available for download. This comprehensive guide emphasizes that the foundation of good health remains the same regardless of age: eat healthy, stay active, attend regular checkups, prioritize mental health, and avoid unnecessary risks like texting while driving. MMHD recognizes that health is a lifelong journey, and whether you're in your 20s or 90s, they've got you covered.

In addition to educational materials, the Mayers Rural Health Clinic hosted a special event in May dedicated to providing women with valuable health education and resources.

As June marks Men's Health Month, MMHD is gearing up for a special event focused on Heart Health, to be held on June 13th at the Mayers Tri County Community Network in Burney. The interactive event, beginning at 5:00 pm, will feature hands-on activities including Hands Only CPR training and other heart health activities. Attendees can expect an evening filled with food, fun, and prizes, all while learning valuable information about maintaining heart health.

"We are committed to promoting proactive health measures for individuals of all genders," said Valerie Lakey, Chief Public Relations Officer at Mayers Memorial Healthcare District. "By providing education, resources, and engaging events, we aim to empower our community to prioritize their health and wellbeing."

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn about heart health and take proactive steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Join MMHD at the Mayers Tri County Community Network on June 13th for an evening of education, entertainment, and camaraderie.
