INFANT WARMER SYSTEM, 2008
DRISCOLL’S CHARITABLE FUND
With grant money received from Driscoll's Charitable Fund, Mayers Intermountain Healthcare Foundation was able to purchase an oak finished Ohmeda Infant Warming unit. The unit will allow babies to stay close to their mothers even while hospital staff evaluate them after birth and provide oxygen and radiant heat as needed. The new equipment allows Mayers Memorial Hospital District to provide assessment and care of infants in a comfortable, organized environment, and is a major step toward the District’s goal of fully equipping two labor and delivery rooms for the approximately 100 babies born at the hospital each year.

BASSINETS, 2007
DRISCOLL’S CHARITABLE FUND
With grant money received from Driscoll's Charitable Fund, Mayers Intermountain Healthcare Foundation was able to purchase two NK Bassinets for the OB Department at Mayers Memorial Hospital District. With around 100 babies being born each year in the District, the bassinets are used frequently and the old bassinets had become bent and chipped over the years, not providing the appropriate level of care for mothers and babies.
The new bassinets have significantly improved the aesthetics of care for the babies being born at Mayers Memorial Hospital District and have provided dependable, smooth travel back and forth from the nursery to the mother. The new bassinets have also provided a comfortable sleeping environment essential for newborn babie, and have given new moms the confidence that their babies are receiving the very best care possible.
The money provided from Driscoll's Charitable Fund, through the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz, has not only improved the actual care to mamas and babies, but has also supported the District’s role as gateway to the best health care services in the rural Intermountain Region. The grant funds from the Community Foundation are part of the collaborative efforts that enable Mayers Memorial Hospital District to truly provide a continuum of total life health services to residents and visitors of the Intermountain region.
